Confessions of a Blogger: My Epic Quest to Share 124 Posts

Hey everyone!
Let’s kick things off with a fun fact to brighten your day: Did you know sloths can hold their breath longer than dolphins? It’s true—they can slow their heart rate and stay underwater for up to 40 minutes! Meanwhile, here I am, holding my breath through my latest blogging adventure. Intrigued? Read on.

When Sharing 124 Blog Posts Becomes an Odyssey (Yes, I’m Dramatic)

Let me paint you a picture: It’s a cozy afternoon. I’m fueled by determination, a hot beverage, and a playlist that screams productivity. My mission? To give my old blog posts a second life across my social media platforms. Easy, right? Just hit a button and let the magic happen.

Oh, how naïve I was.

Here’s the thing—sharing blog posts one by one sounds simple in theory. In practice? It’s less “light sprint to the finish line” and more “epic trek through a jungle of endless clicks.” And sure, I thought, “Hey, no problem! I’ll just use a plugin to automate this.” Silly me. Premium WordPress users and plugins? Not best friends, it turns out.

At this point, I can hear Jetpack saying, “You want to share your posts? One at a time, friend. Slow and steady wins the race.” Cue dramatic sigh.

Now, I could’ve given up. Could’ve taken the easy route and just ignored my back catalog entirely. But here’s the thing: my 124 posts are gold. They deserve their moment in the spotlight! Even if it takes me an eternity.

As I dive into this process, I’ve learned a few things about myself:

  1. I don’t care what anyone says, WordPress’s “Share to Social” button is now both my nemesis and my partner in crime.
  2. Mastodon is not-so-secretly judging my word count (sorry, Mastodon, I don’t do “short and sweet”).
  3. When faced with tedious tasks, my sense of humor is what saves the day.
  4. Yes, I’m definitely spamming my new social media accounts, and no, I don’t feel bad about it (okay, maybe a little bad).

What’s the takeaway from this experience? Sometimes the tools we work with don’t have all the bells and whistles we need—but we adapt. We persevere. We roll our eyes, power through, and maybe even laugh at the absurdity of it all.

So here I am, slowly but surely sharing my beloved posts with the world. It’s not glamorous, but it’s a labor of love. If you see my blog popping up on your social feed, give it a like, share, or comment to keep me motivated. Trust me, I need it.

And hey, if you’re about to embark on a similar journey, take this piece of advice: set realistic expectations. Or maybe just hire someone else to do it (kidding… mostly).

For now, it’s back to the grind for me. One post, one click, one mildly sarcastic internal monologue at a time. Wish me luck.

I would love to hear from you!
