Reblog Insights: How Mood Affects Gut Health

So my doctors, dietician and specialists all had a face palm a few months back in regards to this very thing. None of us could figure out why my stomach would turn sour so often no matter what I ate or meds I took. Then I had to call the crisis team as for some reason my body wasn’t working with my anti-depressant anymore so I was put on a new one, and a stabilizer as well. I also started doing this and working on what I hope to be my first published book in the series of many if I have anything to say about it.

I noticed I wasn’t having as much issues with my gut, and commented on it to the dietician after she was caught up with what had happened with my meds so we are on the same page. As I said that it seems since my mood improved my gut hasn’t been as evil of a bitch of late. Not verbatim but pretty close including the swear as I drop them more to laugh a bit or smile at. We both got that look of ‘why didn’t this occur sooner’ on our faces and talked about it for a bit.

It is funny that this came up in my browsing for stuff to look at for healthy stuff and my tummy had been being weird. Was just a migraine coming in slow from one of it sneak attacks , one that had been brewing since yesterday is now full blown pain on a want to curl up and hide and would love some crackers or original pringles (I learned when I had morning sickness that the original pringles works better then crackers for nausea). I realized I had been pretty stressed the last little bit with some stuff on my plate.

Low and behold this pops up reminding me that my mood impacts my gut. So I just couldn’t resist sharing this with you. Not just cause it is funny or actually shows a positive medical interaction instead of my usual but because I got another reminder of this simple little detail which are the easiest to overlook. Enjoy.
