Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.
This one is pretty easy for me to describe. It is actually this site. I get to be me without apology and as I learn what masks I’ve worn I get to share that. My site is totally based on what chaos it is to be AuDHD. The random posts that will come up, even I don’t know what it will be.
Often an idea is sparked by a reel or in my book most often. Sometimes it is based on something that really got under my skin. Even if I didn’t say this was the cause, it fuelled the desire to teach or explain something from my point of view. You see for me it is first off about creating a safe place to learn how to stand up to you medical professionals and refuse to take one of their avoid tactics to get around answering the question. Sometimes it is to share the actual experience to shine light on something that we may not know or understand.
The best way to stop bullies is to refuse to take their bs and feed into that behaviour they seek. My way is by teaching, sharing because I was that kid who thought they were to different and made wrong. When in fact it was the fact the world looks more at negatives than positives. I don’t just stand on a soap box, I talk about life, I live life open and unapologetically as far as I safely can both mentally and physically. This is the type of thing that says ‘someone else knows what it is like, I’m not alone’.
When we feel alone for too long and like we are outsiders just like in the little match stick girl. We feel useless and like we deserve it. I know I’m not alone in this as I have heard so many others talk about these things. When in fact we just see things differently and the world doesn’t accept change easily so they respond in fear and try to make it fit a box. The change I speak of is acceptance and respect so that the strengths we have can shine because the world kicks them down and keeps doing that.
We don’t need to like each other to accept and respect that we are all humans, we all have a beating heart in our chests, everyone thinks and they should be heard. I believe fear is what drives discrimination and bias. The best way to combat fear is knowledge. By sharing and opening up as I do hear that is exactly what I’m doing. Teaching by living, leading by example.
My calling is to heal, so again this site brings me great joy and is simple for me to do. I burned my hand cooking thanks to an oven mitt failure and even though it hurts to use any keyboard even the one on my cell yet instead of taking more from my energy for the day it’s giving it back in small amounts. It’s not that hard to open up and basically vent some days, it helps heal me as well. So ya this question is simple for me to answer. I do it every day. I write every day. I’m relaxed and opening up which I can’t begin to describe. All because of this very site and each of you. Thank you.

I would love to hear from you!
