Focusing the Lens: An Update for New and Returning Readers

Tawâw—come in, you’re welcome here; there’s room.

When I first started this blog, I hadn’t fully decided on its purpose. It began as an open space—one full of potential and possibilities. Over time, as I reflected on my passions and values, I began to see its true direction take shape as I created each post, and component. Now, I want to share this refined vision with you, whether you’ve been with me since the start or have just found your way here.

A Haven for Creativity

This blog is a reflection of my journey as a fiction author, as it always has been. You’ll find first drafts of my novels here—messy, raw, and shared chapter by chapter as they are developed. These drafts are works in progress, and I would love your feedback on them.

Alongside these chapters, I’ll share poems that capture moments of wonder, struggle, and growth. These pieces are part of my creative process, and I hope they inspire you.

I invite you to share your own creative work:

  • Fictional stories that transport us to new worlds.
  • Poems that echo with emotion.
  • Perspectives that stretch the imagination.

A Place for Reflection

This blog also continues to be home to my personal journal, where I share daily reflections. These entries explore the challenges and triumphs I face as someone who is neurodiverse and navigating life’s complexities. My journal is a space where I document growth, resilience, and the lessons I learn along the way. I hope it serves as both a connection and a source of encouragement for others who may walk a similar path.

A Space for Truth

Finally, this is a space for truth. Part of understanding who I am is acknowledging the role I play in the world around me. I’ve come to see that awareness of imbalances and injustices is a part of who I am. Whether it’s the systemic inequities faced by marginalized communities, or the specific injustices highlighted by moments like #215, it’s vital to shine a light on these truths.

Despite my own Plains Cree heritage, I was also complicit. I didn’t take action, I didn’t listen deeply enough, and I didn’t amplify these voices when it mattered most. Acknowledging this is painful, but it’s also a call to do better. To ensure that we are no longer silent, that we are no longer complicit in the face of injustice. Sharing these truths is as much a part of my journey as my writing and my reflections.

I invite you to use this space to speak up:

  • Share your reality.
  • Illuminate the cracks in our world that need mending.
  • Help empower change through your truth.

This blog is a reflection of my journey, and I hope it becomes a space for yours as well. Whether you’re here to read, create, reflect, or speak up, you are welcome here.

So, I invite you to share—your stories, your poems, your voice.

This is a space for speaking up, for celebrating creativity, and for creating something meaningful together both fictional and non-fictional.

Tawâw. Thank you for being here. Your story matters.

I would love to hear from you!
